Labor Day 2013 brought another great edition of Bike 4 Brain. The weather was excellent with sunny skies and nice temperatures.
As usual the organization was outstanding. Ken, Brent, and the rest of the B4B volunteers did a great job setting up and marking the course. There were numerous SAG stops which were greatly appreciated.

Like in previous years Psychlers had a very good showing. Of course Brent was there and not only did he ride the 75.8 mile long course but at the same time he was helping other riders find their way. Manuel Morales, sorry no picture, was also there pedaling fast on his new Roubaix carbon fiber steed. Levi Ballou, Jason Irwin (our newest Psychlers member), and Sergio also did the long course and had a fantastic time.According to the Garmin we did over 3500 feet of ascent. And that super steep hill in Merrriam, which I am sure we all remember, had, according to the Garmin also, a grade of 21%! Levi was the first one to reach the summit and made it look easy!
(From left to right) Jason, Levi, Ken, and Sergio at the end of the B4B ride. Not only did we have a great ride but we were also very glad to be there to support one of our favorite causes. One of the main goals of Psychlers, like Bike 4 Brain, is to increase awareness of mental illness and its treatment. And, on top of that, we got to ride our bikes!
Will see you next year at B4B!
